Jack Conman writes songs that belie his youth – he’s still only 19 years old, but his songwriting has a maturity that many more seasoned singer songwriters don’t ever achieve. This might be why the Hull native has already gained support from Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, had his debut EP at number 5 in the iTunes singer-songwriter charts and completed a 25 date UK tour. Oh and started his own label Axoloti Records. Impressive stuff for a relative newcomer to the acoustic scene.

‘Uproar’ is the second single to be taken from his upcoming ‘Heddison’ EP. With deftly plucked acoustics and punchy strumming, in some ways Conman’s style is classic singer songwriter fare. However, with the blend of Conman’s staccato lyrics on the chorus and the smoother delivery of each verse, ‘Uproar’ shows an English quirkiness and edge that lifts it up.
