Paris, Texas make infectious indie disco
Paris, Texas are an East London four-piece whose fusion of indie-disco-electro has been taking venues around the capital by storm. Taking broad influences from DFA darling James Murphy, Metronomy and the 70’s disco of Nile Rogers, the band have been gigging solidly across the last year, with slots supporting DJs and producers such as Marshall Jefferson, Greymatter and Ben Pearce.
Paris, Texas’s latest gig at Camden’s Proud Gallery saw them turning up the disco and owning a packed dance floor at Bloc Party’s new night Pilot, but they have more than just disco in their sound. Latest track ‘Schon’ has layers of sleazy electro synth with a p-funk bassline, whilst ‘Must Be The Reason’ sees them in a more emotional territory with dreamy vocals. These are perfect tracks to warm up Friday.
