I’ve been a big fan of Stornoway since a friend first played me ‘Zorbing’ back in 2010. Taken from their debut album, it’s a lovely upbeat song that I played religiously throughout that summer and even listening to it now incites a nostalgic feeling of being 18 again with nothing to do except chill in the sun.
Well unfortunately we’re in the depth of winter and I’m certainly not 18 anymore. However, the good news is Stornoway are back. Their third album ‘Bonxie’ is due out on the 13th April via Cooking Vinyl. ‘The Road You Didn’t Take’ is the first single from the album and my god is it beautiful.
For those of you wondering, ‘Bonxie’ is another name for The great Skua, a large seabird which is known to be a powerful, ruthless predator. Evidently, Stornoway mean business with their latest release.
I cannot wait to hear the rest of the album. And just incase you missed it first time round…
