Etta Bond keeps delivering with ‘Seen and Never Heard’.
I’ve flirted with posting something from London based vocalist Etta Bond before, but never got around to doing it for some as yet elusive reason. It’s not because of any inherent dislike of Bond’s previous material, I like it a lot. The grimier edge of the productions Ella has combined with her sultry voice – such as ’18’ – are bashier, grittier tracks and I’ve always got time for beats with a glitchy, urban edge.
However there is something intoxicatingly laid back about Bond’s “Seen and Never Heard” that this was the track that tipped me into a write up: a gorgeous organic soul groove, sweet vocals and a mid afternoon park life vibe that hit that aural spark that we look for at Mahogany.
