December is a time to reflect and remember the highs and lows of the past year. A definite high for me was watching Amber Run film their breath-taking acappella Mahogany session of ‘I Found’ with London Contemporary Voices.
The five-piece band who met at Nottingham University have gone from strength to strength in 2014, releasing two EP’s, ‘Pilot’ and ‘Spark’ as well as playing in the hugely successful Communion New Faces Tour alongside Pixel Fix, Fyfe and Kimberley Anne. 2015 will see the band embarking on their first headline tour in February as well as the release of their debut album.
There’s no confirmed date for the album as yet, but fans are in luck, as yesterday the band revealed their latest single ‘Just My Soul Responding’, which is set for release on the 19th January.
I think it’s lovely.
Here is one of my favourite moments from 2014 for Mahogany. The Amber Run session with London Contemporary Voices.
